Holy Cross Cemetery, is located on Johnston Road, between George’s River and North Sydney. Historical records, show the grave yard was expanded in 1876, to include Lakeside Cemetery.

 

Lakeside Cemetery was set up for members of the Protestant faith, Holy Cross Cemetery was set up for members of the Catholic faith. Grave sites at Holy Cross can be found dating back to at least 1910.

 

The location sits on the side of a hill, overlooking the Pottle’s Lake area. It is a very restful and quiet location.
